The Jermy twins Albert and Arthur were born in 1920. The pair grew up in the Waveney Valley town of Bungay, working as painters and decorators in the family business.
Known locally as ‘Joe’, Albert Jermy had a keen interest in amateur film making and acquired a cine camera in the early 1960s. In the years that followed, with brother Arthur capturing the audio on a tape recorder, the two brothers made several films together about the town, the River Waveney and the many folk that lived there during the 1960s.
Now, in the digital age, the films have been captured again in a format that should preserve the hard work and effort that went into creating them. They are truly marvellous films for their time.
